“My 19 year old son was sick for 2 months and doctors didn’t figure out was was wrong with him until he had a siezure the day he was supposed to get a drain in for another issue he originally went in the hospital for. When he got transferred to his 3rd hospital in NJ doctors at first thought he had sepsis and than later on that night the doctor said he had HLH as a result from him having SJIA 5 years ago. Once he was transferred to his 4th hospital a Children’s Hospital in NY the doctors gave him a definite diagnosis of secondary HLH/MAS. My son passed away on March 25,2023 a week after we found out.”
